Connect to custom server

Hey,
I can connect to a public server no problem. But if I host a server, there is not option in the client to enter an IP address. All I get in direct is to connect to myself.

Edit "favorites.txt" with your server ip and port. Its located inside "comMP/config".

Please ... could you explain in more detail? that I have the same problem.
I have wanted to play online for 10 years and I can't.
